Dr. Nirmala Pandit

Dr. Nirmala Pandit has Ph. D in Human rights from the university of Pune. She taught Human Rights and International Law in the post-graduate department of Law in the University of Pune. She has been the Executive Director of the National Centre for Advocacy Studies, Pune. She also served as a Legal Officer for Asia Pacific in the International Commission of Jurist, Geneva. She was the Special Advisor to the High Commissioner of Human Rights on Trafficking while she was working at the UNHCHR in Switzerland. She has been a member of the number of committees engaged in the drafting of laws relating to Women and children. She is associated with the Indiana University in Bloomington, USA and is a visiting Faculty to the UN University in Tokyo She has been associated with police Academy, YASHADA, many national and international NGOs, Academic institutionslike, ILS Law College, Flame School of Management and Liberal Arts and Grass Roots Groups. She is a trustee on some of the social organizations like, Shelter Associates, Centre for Empowerment and Sakal Relief Fund
